El despertarme hoy a las 8am para ver la transmisión en vivo de los Nominados a los Oscar rindió sus frutos. Aquello que se quedaba en especulaciones y posibilidades ya es una realidad: el Perú consigue su primera nominación en la historia a Mejor Película Extranjera con La Teta Asustada. Claudia Llosa, Magaly Solier y parte del equipo de producción irán a Los Ángeles en marzo para asistir a la ceremonia como nominados, una en la que podrían llevarse una estatuilla dorada.
Aunque la competencia está difícil, sobretodo con las favoritas The White Ribbon y Un Propheté en la terna. “Yo le daría el Oscar a La Cinta Blanca” confiesa Claudia Llosa, demostrando que aún tiene los pies en la tierra a pesar de haber marcado nuestra historia nacional. “Necesito un momento a solas para similar la noticia. He gritado como todos los peruanos” anunció Magaly Solier, la cual estaba al borde de las lágrimas al dar su declaración vía telefónica. Y es que no podía ser de otra forma. Todos estamos emocionados con la noticia y estamos al tanto de las repercusiones que pudiera tener en nuestro cine.
Pero no sólo ha sido una mañana de La Teta Asutada, sino de mucho Oscar. Ya tenemos los nominados de todas las ternas y no hay muchas sorpresas. Recuerden que este año son 10 las nominadas a Mejor Película, por lo que será bastante más interesante. En resumen, Avatar y The Hurt Locker dominan las nominaciones con 9 cada una, siendo la favorita principal la segunda, luego de triunfar en los Director’s Guild y los Producer’s Guild la semana pasada. Inglourious Basterds se alza con 7 nominaciones, mientras Up in the Air y Precious con 6 cada una. UP resulta ser una gran sorpresa en la terna principal a Mejor Película, además de tener 4 nominaciones más. Ha sido un buen año para el sci-fi, demostrado por la inclusión de District 9 en dos ternas principales (Guión y Película) y por ver a Star Trek dominando las categorías técnicas (4 nominaciones). Otro dato resaltante es que The White Ribbon (la austriaca nominada junto a La Teta Asustada) consiguió una nominación también en Mejor Fotografía. Y en la terna extranjera tenemos Latinoamérica por partida doble, con El Secreto de sus Ojos (Argentina) también nominada.
